More than 10 Hong Kong Express flights between Hong Kong and Okinawa/Ishigaki scheduled between 6 and 8 August 2026 have been cancelled.
As Tropical Cyclone Dolphin approaches Japan, Hong Kong Express and Greater Bay Airlines have announced the cancellation of multiple flights between Hong Kong and Okinawa between 6 and 8 August 2026.
Hong Kong Express said more than 10 flights between Hong Kong and Okinawa or Ishigaki will be cancelled, including:
6 August 2026
- Hong Kong → Okinawa: UO844, UO824
- Okinawa → Hong Kong: UO845, UO825
7 August 2026
- Hong Kong → Okinawa: UO842, UO844, UO824
- Okinawa → Hong Kong: UO843, UO845, UO825
8 August 2026
- Hong Kong <=> Okinawa: UO842, UO843
- Hong Kong <=> Ishigaki: UO858, UO879
To assist affected passengers, Hong Kong Express has arranged additional services on 5 August 2026 to enable travellers to depart earlier:
- UO8842 Hong Kong → Okinawa 17:00–20:40
- UO8843 Okinawa → Hong Kong 21:25–23:10 (currently full)
Meanwhile, Greater Bay Airlines has also cancelled its services between Hong Kong and Okinawa on 7 and 8 August 2026.
Both airlines urged passengers to check the latest flight status before travelling to the airport and to monitor updates through their official websites and communication channels.
Passengers whose flights remain scheduled are still advised to arrive at the airport at least three hours before departure to allow sufficient time for check-in and possible weather-related disruptions.
