Accounting & finance; administrative & clerical; IT/technical/engineers; hospitality/F&B; and sales/retail/marketing are the five job functions with roles that are currently in demand in Malaysia.
This is based on FastJobs' analysis on its portal that focuses on roles for non-executives and blue-collar workers.
The portal has also seen job seeking activity increase by 26% post the CNY season. The majority of job seekers (80%) are in the age group of 18-35 years old and come with a minimum qualification in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia.
Local candidates aged between 20-30 years old often seek employment in the five sectors of food & beverage; retail; construction; entertainment; and telecommunication industries, with two-thirds (66%) asking for a monthly salary between RM1,500 to RM3,000.
FastJobs Malaysia General Manager, Joelle Pang said: "As part of our efforts to provide equal job opportunities to Malaysians, we urge employers to post jobs during the peak season to gain full access to a diverse pool of active or relevant local talent."
