Shanghai remains the most popular destination for job seekers, while second-tier cities in Hangzhou and Suzhou are gaining ground. Â
The latest job market study done by 51jobs.com, asked job seekers about their choice of working place.
Shanghai was at the top, followed by Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Beijing.  In terms of number of job openings, Shanghai and Shenzhen had about the same number.
Beijing had the least growth in job openings among first-tier cities, while Suzhou and Hangzhou moved into number six and number seven respectively.
Although second tier cities had become more popular, 51jobs.com pointed out that many employers still prefer starting their businesses in first-tier cities providing the cities with the most number of opportunities. Â
In 2015, 45% of the employers said they will recruit talent mainly from first-tier cities, a 5% increase compared to last year. Â
The website also found the number of job openings in first half of the year has increased by 10% compared to the first half of last year.
The report added despite the abundance of jobs only 61% of employees intend to change jobs in the second quarter, a 12% drop compared to the first quarter says survey by 51jobs.com.
The website commented job seekers are aware that changing jobs often, leaves a bad impression.
80% of the respondents said they have changed jobs three times or less in their career and only 10.2 percent said they have changed jobs four or more times.
