The 50 best places to work in 2014

The latest list of the 50 best companies to work for will come in handy for employees planning a job switch in the New Year, and for employers who want to promote their stellar organisations to potential candidates.

Based on employee reviews, Glassdoor has listed the world’s 50 best places to work in 2014, with Bain & Company taking out the number one spot, jumping up three places from fourth place last year.

Twitter and LinkedIn came in second and third respectively, with all three companies scoring 4.6 over five this year. While LinkedIn came in 14th last year, this is Twitter’s first time in the top 50.

In fourth place this year is Eastman Chemical, another first timer on the list. Facebook, last year’s top company to work for, fell to number five.

Glassdoor collates anonymous employee responses from a survey, which measures overall job and company satisfaction, as well as staff sentiment toward career opportunities, compensation and benefits, work-life balance, senior leadership and more.
