A teacher from My First Skool has been arrested following video footage of her apparently dragging and pushing a young pre-school child across the floor went viral.
The 51-year-old woman, who has not been identified to protect the identity of the child, was sacked from her part-time position on Wednesday, following the video’s online leak last Friday. She was arrested on Sunday, though it is unclear if she is still under police custody.
NTUC First Campus, which runs the childcare centre, said in a statement the teacher has admitted her actions were "inappropriate and has accepted the dismissal", The Straits Times reported.
The three-year-old boy in the centre of the abuse allegations suffered a fractured shin. The video clearly captures the teacher dragging the boy across the classroom floor before pushing him down. The child is later seen to be struggling to get up and walk.

NTUC First Campus has said it will bear the medical expenses of the boy, and its CEO Chan Tee Seng said in a statement:
“The teacher's conduct was totally unacceptable and my heart goes out to the child and his parents. Whatever the circumstances, such behaviour cannot be condoned. I am truly sorry that this had happened.”
Chan said investigations are still underway.
