Singapore's best C&B consultants

HR professionals and business leaders in Singapore trust Mercer, Towers Watson and Hay Group the most to consult on their compensation & benefits needs.

This is according to Vendors of the Year 2014, an annual special edition published by Human Resources, Asia's most read and respected source of HR news.

Mercer has consistently ranked first since the launch of the annual rankings in 2006, which ASEAN managing director Lisa Sun attributes to the company's ability to stay on top of the latest C&B trends, hire expert consultants and advisors, create industry-specific solutions, and invest heavily into technology and compensation management tools, among others.

"We have a proven track record of designing HR structures that appropriately reflect organisation structure, roles and business needs - with an established list of clients from both the private and public sectors," said Sun. "This has equipped our consultants with good insights and understanding of real-life issues, practices and policies."

Towers Watson, in fourth place in 2013, has strengthened its services on a global and local scale to push it into second place. Hay Group, which was second last year, is in third place.

This year's rankings includes one new inclusion, ConneXionsAsia (CXA), which has developed Asia's first "flex wellness marketplace", enabling employers to shift the goals of benefits from treatment to prevention, said founder and CEO Rosaline Koo.

Now in its ninth year, Vendors of the Year provides a ranking of the most preferred vendors, service providers and consultants used by HR and C-suite professionals to recruit, manage and develop talent in Singapore.

In Vendors of the Year 2014, more than 125 companies were highlighted as the preferred vendors across 17 categories. These categories cover recruitment, employee healthcare, compensation & benefits, relocation, training venues, serviced apartments, payroll, training and more.

Results are gathered from Human Resources‘ annual HR Trends Survey of 17,723 professionals, made up of senior-level HR professionals (84%) and top management, including general managers, managing directors and CEOs (16%).

Companies from various industries and of varying sizes are well-represented. Senior professionals from both multinational and small and medium-sized firms were included in the survey, with the biggest industries represented including business services (16%), IT & telecommunications (13%), travel (10%), and financial services and energy, utilities & government (both 9%).

Of these respondents, 60% had either regional or international responsibilities, while 40% had domestic responsibilities in Singapore.
