Singapore universities rank in top 10 for executive MBAs

National University of Singapore (NUS) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) both have been ranked within the global top 10 for executive MBA (EMBA) courses.

The rankings, conducted by Financial Times, lists the world's top 100 programmes for executive MBA, targeted at senior working managers, as opposed to fresh graduates with no work experience. Data for the ranking is based on surveys of schools and alumni who graduated in 2011.

This year's ranking was topped by Trium, run by HEC Paris, London School of Economics, and Stern School of Business at New York University. The top five places are dominated by intercontinental EMBAs.

It is the first time that Trium has emerged on top, beating's last year's top-ranked joint programme by Kellogg School of Management and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). 

NUS' double-degree programme with UCLA Anderson School of Management moved up a rank from 2013 to land fourth this year. The average salary for graduates has also jumped 78%, to USD 279,284. 

NTU's Nanyang Business School leaped four places to be ranked eighth this year, along with a 71% average salary increase to USD 221,672.

China features prominently in the top ten - with the Kellong-HKUST EMBA at second place, and China Europe International Business School at tenth place, besides two other joint programmes.

No Malaysian or Indian universities featured in the top 100.
