New CEO announced for Malaysia's Human Resources Development Fund

Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Berhad (PSMB) has announced CM Vignaesvaran as its new chief executive officer.

He stepped into this role in an official capacity on November 1.

Vignaesvaran - better known as "Vicks" - has 17 years of experience in various positions and industries in the corporate world, ranging across the contruction industry, and the power, telecommunications and manufacturing sectors, a release stated.

He first joined PSMB in 2010 as the general manager of the Training Grant Division, and in 2012 stepped up as the deputy chief executive (operations), before being appointed the CEO.

The Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) is administered by Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Berhad (PSMB), an agency under the Ministry of Human Resources, via the Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Berhad Act.

The aim of the fund is to develop quality human capital and a world-class workforce in Malaysia to help the nation achieve its status as a developed country by 2020.

The HRDF spearheads the up-skilling of the Malaysian workforce by driving training and development and enhancing skills and capabilities, and encouraging employers to upgrade the skills of their employees.
