More than 40% of workers in Singapore are seeking positions with a monthly salary between $1,500 and $3,499.
According to the jobsDB Asian Consumer Market Survey, there was also a significant increase in respondents searching for roles in the $5,000 to $7,499 salary range, up 7% from October 2012.
Additionally, there has been a 3% decrease in younger job seekers in the 20-24 age bracket, compared to a 4% increase in those aged between 45 and 49.
The survey, which collected responses from 1,893 participants in six countries across Asia Pacific, also found a 2% increase in job seekers aged 45-49 in Hong Kong.
The increase in older workers seeking jobs in both Hong Kong and Singapore suggests people are seeking better paying roles to manage their retirement.
"The developing trend around the demand for higher paying job roles amongst the older age range leads us to believe that Singapore workers are not wholly satisfied with their current role and salary and are looking for change in the lead up to their impending retirement," Angeli Beltran, managing director of jobsDB Singapore and Malaysia, said.
