Median gross monthly salaries of full-time local postgraduates in Singapore

Those in financial and insurance services earn a median of about S$15,300 a month, while the median is S$8,500 for those with humanities and social sciences postgraduate degrees.

In a recent Parliamentary response, Minister for Manpower Tan See Leng addressed a query on the number of Singaporean postgraduates in the workforce, as well as their median salaries.

According to the Minister, there were about 227,000 resident postgraduates in the workforce in 2021.

He also shared that the median gross monthly incomes of resident postgraduates vary across specialties and industries. Among the top five most common fields of study that resident postgraduates specialise in, median gross monthly incomes for those who are full-time employed range from around S$8,500 for postgraduates with humanities and social sciences postgraduate degrees, to around S$11,300 for those with business and administration postgraduate degrees.

Apart from the above, he noted that among the top five most common industries that resident postgraduates work in, median gross monthly incomes for full-time employed resident postgraduates range from around S$9,400 for those in the health and social services sector, to around S$15,300 for those in the financial and insurance services sector.
