ManpowerGroup introduces more than 10,000 courses for job hunters

ManpowerGroup Singapore has unveiled a revamped website, that includes over 10,000 free technical and non-technical online career-related courses available on its powerYOU portal.

The revamped website stands out for not only providing a more candidate-friendly experience, but also allowing the general public to understand their learning style better by finding out their Learnability Quotient through a five-minute assessment.

The new website, which is also available for download as a mobile app on both Android and iOS phones, comes in the backdrop of Singapore government’s clarion call for locals to upskill themselves by taking modular courses.

Commenting on the new concept, powerYOU, Linda Teo, country manager of ManpowerGroup Singapore said, “Amidst slow economic growth, candidates are having difficulty landing jobs as employers are more stringent in their hiring requirements and they want to be sure that the hired has the necessary skill sets to be productive from day one.

"To strengthen their appeal, candidates should expand their skill sets and knowledge to keep abreast with the times, and powerYOU provides them an excellent portal to do so."

The courses available on the powerYOU portal cover areas such as IT, finance, sales, business, leadership and HR, and some courses are available in languages other than English as well. It also has courses that help people prepare for certifications such as PMP, ITIL, Agile, PHR, Big Data and Microsoft Certifications.

Jacinta Ong, a talent acquisition practitioner with a multinational advertising agency, commented: "Working adults with no prior or minimal experience in the roles they have been reassigned to will find powerYOU especially helpful."
