Major rollback in fuel prices in the Philippines to cushion against rising oil costs, more aid to follow

Since 14 April, fuel prices have been rolled back nationwide, with diesel down by over PHP20 per litre, gasoline by more than PHP4, and kerosene by over PHP8.

With effect from 14 April 2026, the Philippines has rolled back its fuel prices, with diesel set to drop by more than PHP20 per litre, gasoline by over PHP4 per litre, and kerosene by more than PHP8 per litre.

According to a press statement by the Office of the President of the Philippines, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. stated that the price cuts are part of "broader efforts to cushion the impact of rising oil prices." He added that more measures and assistance programmes will be rolled out in the coming days to "further reduce transportation, food, and living expenses nationwide."

President Marcos hopes the price cuts would help drivers, commuters, and Filipino families affected by high crude oil prices; however, he acknowledged that the price cut was not the only way that the daily burden would be eased.

“This is not enough. That is why the government is continuously working to alleviate its impact on your daily lives,” President Marcos affirmed. “We will not stop until we reduce the cost of travel, food, and the overall living standards of our countrymen,” the Chief Executive elaborated.

The national leader said an announcement will be made for additional assistance from the government in the coming days.

"We will not let any Filipino be left behind in the midst of these challenges.”
