IKEA to open fourth outlet in Thailand and recruit 200 employees by 2023

To be located at Sukhumvit, Bangkok, the outlet will be the fourth in Thailand after IKEA opened in Bangna, Phuket, and Bang Yai.

Swedish home furnishing company IKEA, on 21 June 2022 (Tuesday), announced that it will be opening a new outlet in Thailand.

To be located at Sukhumvit, Bangkok, the outlet will be the fourth in Thailand after IKEA opened in Bangna, Phuket, and Bang Yai. According to the company's statement, it will be operationally ready in 2023, and will recruit a "dedicated team of 200 members" across a range of positions.

Sirin Atsilarat - formerly a sustainability manager, and local marketing & communication manager at Bangna, store manager at Phuket, and a deputy store manager at Bang Yai - will be placed in charge of the Sukhumvit outlet as store manager.

For the benefit of residents, IKEA Sukhumvit will be near the Asoke-Sukhumvit intersection. It will be located on the third floor of The EmSphere, and will include the market hall, as well as restaurant and shopping services such as 'Click & Collect'.

Leonie Hoskin, retail manager, IKEA Thailand and Vietnam, said: "The new store will serve 4mn visitors living in the Sukhumvit area, as well as other places in Bangkok, who will now have a more convenient reason to come to the store."
