Human resources professionals are useless and a joke. Or that’s what Google tells me.
Yesterday, I came across this post from veteran recruiter Greg Savage via Twitter, in which he expressed disappointment in finding out what the Google autocomplete suggestions throw up when you type in “recruiters are”.
He posted a screenshot of his search, which showed that recruiters are “liars”, “scum” and “a waste of time”, among other things.
These Google suggestions typically differ between countries, but they are based on real searches done by other people, so I understand Savage’s disappointment.
Although these suggestions obviously shouldn't be taken seriously (as if human resources is a waste of time!) I thought it would be fun to chuck a few other jobs into Google just to see if this is a trend... and it is. Journalists (me) are also evil and idiots, as are human resources professionals.
Google also reminds you that editors (me, again) are real people, too. Also, we're failed writers.
What does a Google search say about your profession?
