HRDF launches new L&D scheme for low-income workers

Malaysia's Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) has launched a new learning and development scheme for the country's B40 group, it announced in a press release yesterday.

The launch of this B40 Capacity Building Scheme (B40 CaB) was officiated by Human Resources Minister M Kulasegaran, and, through it, HRDF aims to arm participants with specific skills and knowledge, thus enabling them to secure employment, get a promotion, and/or earn a better income.

According to Minister Kulasegaran, the scheme, tentatively scheduled to be implemented from August 2019 onwards, aligns with the 11th Malaysia Plan and has a goal to "improve the people's economy and to support inclusive progress."

Going forward, HRDF will work with the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health on several pilot projects, prior to the official implementation of the scheme.
