HR Practitioner Appointments

Rebecca Chan takes up role as senior recruiting business partner, APACIn a promotion from recruiting business partner for APAC at network security provider Palo Alto Networks, Rebecca Chan is now senior recruiting business partner for the region, based in Singapore. Prior to joining the firm in November 2014, she was senior recruiter, Asia Pacific and Japan, at F5 Networks, and senior researcher at ConnectedGroup before that.

Benjamin Moris takes up new role at Google in SingaporePreviously the head of online staffing channels APAC where he led the online talent strategy and execution in APAC, Benjamin Moris has transitioned as head of staffing channels (tech) APAC, at Google in Singapore. He has been with Google since November 2014, and has previously worked with organisations such as CTPartners, and Michael Page.

Jessica Kang adds HRBP experience to her plateAdvertising and marketing services agency, R/GA has recruited Jessica Kang as the HR business partner, based in Shanghai. She moves over from AKQA, where she was head of recruitment. She also has experience working with Nurun and SAM Business Consulting, both in China.

Joanne Chuah exits L'Oréal to join Ansell in recruitmentSelangor-based Joanne Chuah has left her role as talent acquisition specialist at L'Oréal, to join health and safety protection goods provider Ansell. Her past experience includes stints at Unisys as talent acquisition consultant, and Kelly Services as staffing consultant.

 

HR Solutions Provider Appointments

Maggie Shen takes up senior HR role at Shangri-LaJoining Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts in November 2016 as the group chief human resources officer, Maggie Shen's responsibilities include talent and people strategy, training and leadership development, and group HR policy. In addition, she plays an instrumental role in partnering with business and cultivate the company culture to support a diversified workforce. Her HR achievements span nearly 20 years and include the positions of VP HR for the BMW Group in China, and head of HR with Visa International overseeing Greater China.

Ambition (Asia) Arul Jeyaraj as delivery manager - contractingArul Jeyaraj has joined the boutique recruitment firm in the role of delivery manager - contracting, based in Kuala Lumpur. He moves from Empower Talent Consulting, where he was head of ICT consulting and talent acquisition for a 10-month tenure. Jeyaraj has previously won silver as Malaysia's recruitment consultant of the year, where he said the secret to recruiting is to “treat work like you treat your life,” which has played a key role in his being recognised for his ability to build relationships.

Basker Maniam joins GSK via Allegis Global SolutionsLeading GSK Malaysia career's team in delivering operational recruitment excellence, process improvement and best practices to stake holders, hiring managers and candidates, Basker Maniam is recruitment lead, Malaysia at GSK - via Allegis Global Solutions. He has more than 11 years of experience in the industry, with his assignments being with Randstad Sourceright, Ambition Asia, Randstad Malaysia, and Advance Micro Devices. He ic currently based in Malaysia.

NAOS International appoints Charlotte van der Vorm as associate directorCharlotte van der Vorm has been hired as associate director at NAOS International, an executive search and HR consulting firm, based in Singapore. Her immediate priority for next year is to continue to develop digital relationships across APAC, as her background is largely in the strategy space; as well as looking after searches in the professional services industry. She explained to Human Resources: "I will also be part of developing and growing my team to ensure growth at NAOS across the region. My first week has already seen me on an interesting MD search in Jakarta as well as other interesting searches in the cosmetics space so it's really varied which is great."

She had been with Nakama Global in her previous assigmnet for more than three years, most recently as associate director, supporting the managing director of Nakama Singapore, and heading a team for digital and creative services.

3V Recruitment Ph strengthens team with Prayag SanghviPrayag Sanghavi has been appointed country manager - operations at 3V Recruitment, a staffing and consulting services firm based in the Philippines. Speaking to Human Resources, he said he is responsible for managing the company’s operations within the Philippines and developing relationships for the new business, establishing partners in the territory, and increasing operating income. Sanghvi relocates from Hyderabad, India, where he was head of talent acquisition at Cortex Consulting Services.

NES Global Talent secures the support of Asha Thangaraju in recruitmentSpecialising in delivering manpower for oil and gas, power, construction and infrastructure, life sciences, manufacturing and IT sectors, NES Global Talent has secured Asha Thangaraju as recruitment consultant. Based in Kuala Lumpur, she moves over from Baker Hughes (RPO), where she was recruitment specialist.

Shivaranjani Balakrishnan commences new role with AgodaHaving joining the online travel accommodation platform in January 2013, Shivaranjani Balakrishnan has been promoted from recruitment coordinator to recruiter (customer experience group), continuing to be based in Kuala Lumpur. She brings with her prior HR experience, having held the roles of pleasure team leader at Redribbon Days and media planner at People n' Rich.

Franklin Owen Leong pursues senior responsibility with IBM Smarter WorkforceIn a promotion up from his role as recruiter, Franklin Owen Leong is now staffing consultant at IBM Smarter Workforce on behalf of Intel Corporation, whilst based in Cyberjaya, Malaysia. He was previously working with GSK, managing recruitment for its shared service arm, Business Service Centre.
