HR job moves from CARS24, Sage, Darwinbox, and Z2C

CARS24 has appointed Mrinal Sinha to the newly-created role of CHRO, while Arlene Wherett has taken on the expanded role of VP and MD for Sage's APAC business.

CARS24 appoints Mrinal Sinha to newly-created role of CHRO

CARS24, an India-based e-commerce platform for pre-owned vehicles, has appointed Mrinal Sinha (pictured above, extreme left) as its Chief Human Resources Officer, effective July 2021. He will be based out of Gurgaon.

In this newly-created role, Sinha will focus on driving the company's human resources strategy, leadership and cultural development, diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Welcoming Sinha to the role, Kunal Mundra, CEO, Cars India, CARS24 said the firm is "thrilled to have attracted a leader with Mrinal's skill and accomplishments to this role."

"He brings a genuine, collaborative, people-first leadership style to all he does. The entire leadership team and I are thrilled for him to join us and are eager to benefit from his leadership as we enter the next phase of growth."

Sharing his point-of-view, Sinha added: “The CARS24 team has a phenomenal culture and commitment to its people and customers. Every person I’ve engaged with brings a collaborative spirit, and I’m ready to roll up my sleeves alongside them and deliver value to our customers and employees.”

An alumnus of XLRI Jamshedpur, Sinha brings close to two decades of experience in HR and organisational leadership. He has focused his career on working across different geographies and roles over the last decade and handling large-scale projects.

Most recently, Sinha was associated with Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance (BALIC) as SVP- HR, where he was responsible for business partnering, talent management, and employee relations. Prior to his time at BALIC, he held HR roles at Max Life Insurance Company Limited and ICICI Bank.


Arlene Wherrett is now VP and Managing Director for Sage's APAC business

Sage, a provider of cloud business management solutions, has appointed Arlene Wherrett (pictured above, centre) as its Vice President and Managing Director for the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, effective June 2020.

Wherrett, previously Vice President and Managing Director for Sage Asia, takes on an expanded role, following the completion of the sale of Sage's locally developed solutions in the region to The Access Group.

In her expanded role, based out of Sydney, Australia, Wherrett will work with customers and partners to sustain the firm's growth trajectory and drive its expansion in the cloud-enabled and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software market across APAC.

Wherrett brings with her over 30 years of experience in leading organisations and is renowned for her strong leadership skills in the IT and services industries across APAC.

Upon joining Sage in 2017, Wherrett has led a growing business, first leading the company’s services team across APAC, then being appointed as Vice President and Managing Director for Asia in 2018. Prior to Sage, Wherrett held director-level roles at Salesforce partner Bluewolf, an IBM company, SAI Global, Marsh and Mercer.

On her new role, Wherrett said: “I am thrilled to lead our talented team and collaborate with our strong partner ecosystem as we forge ahead capturing new opportunities in Asia Pacific.” 


Juancho Jerusalem is now VP and Head of APJ Expansion at Darwinbox

Effective July 2021, Darwinbox has called on Juancho Jerusalem (pictured above, extreme right) to its Executive Leadership team, in the role of Vice President and Head of APJ Expansion.

Here, Jerusalem will lead the company's penetration in ASEAN, AN/Z and Japan, with key responsibilities including customer success across the company's base of HRMS users, growth and expansion across APJ, and culture creation for attracting best talent and partners.

He joins Darwinbox, an HR technology platform, with a career at Salesforce as Regional Vice President, where he spent close to five years managing the marketing cloud business across ASEAN and Greater China regions.

Most recently, he led the charge for Salesforce's Digital 360 business in Thailand and Philippines. Prior to this, he has handled various roles at MNCs like Oracle and Citrix across APAC for over 17 years.


Z2C hires Kaleem Ahmed as Group Head of Talent & Culture

Effective July 2021, Kaleem Ahmed has assumed the role of Group Head of Talent & Culture at Z2C Limited, a multinational communication, advertising, public relations, technology, and commerce holding company. Based at the Karachi head office. Ahmed reports to the Group Chief Financial Officer, Mahmood Merchant.

In this new role, Ahmed will head people operations and work on expanding the employee base as the firm scales up following significant investments made around sports marketing.

“(I am) thrilled to join the leadership team of Z2C Limited, the largest vertically integrated communications holding company in Pakistan. (I am) coming in with a clear vision of putting bundles of best HR practices into action, contributing to the potential of exponential growth of the business,” Ahmed said.

With nearly 15 years of HR experience across six major banks in Pakistan, Ahmed brings a track record across talent acquisition, performance management, succession management, including culture refinement.

He will help Z2C Limited ensure that the best talent acquisition practices are deployed, that performance management policies and promotion cycles are carried out in accordance with a highly competitive process laid down, and that a comprehensive succession plan is in place.
