How Ericsson and Mars nurture high potentials

HR practitioners and chief HR officers know the weight of identifying the rising stars in their organisations. But after this process, what’s next? At Talent Management Asia, the region’s premier human capital strategy conference, top HR executives will discuss the anatomy of a well-defined talent strategy that can lead to organisational milestones such as workforce productivity and business profitability.

Talent Management Asia 2017 is a two-day conference happening in Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong in March 2017. The annual event is attended by chief talent officers and senior HR professionals from the biggest companies in Asia.

What if identified high potential talent fails to deliver? Arturo Poire, vice president and head of human resources at Ericsson, will reveal the answer and more in his presentation entitled “Strategies to develop and maintain high potentials within your organisation.” Poire will also touch on the proper assessment and selection of high potential candidates and the risk of demoralising other contributors who are not identified as high potentials.

You have high potentials in your company, but do you have a consistent high-performing culture? Karen Yen, people and organisational director at Mars Chocolate, will share best practices in engaging with employees about company goals and culture. She will also discuss the key elements senior management and the HR team’s focus on the importance of social media in engagement.

A CHRO panel entitled “Winning the war for talent 2.0: Through sustainable succession planning” will also be held at Talent Management Asia. The topics of discussion include retention strategies for successors, the integration of succession programmes and business plans, and ways to address the real risk on experience, skills and the knowledge gap.

In Malaysia, this topic will also be presented in the form of interactive roundtables, where delegates will exchange their experience on growing the organisation’s talent for future businesses.

The two shortlisted discussion topics are “Grooming talent for future roles in your organisation” and “Adopting a strategic approach towards the employee life cycle”. Delegates will also discuss the best practices in retaining top performers during economic downturn and strategies to keep employees motivated and engaged.
