Ongoing geopolitical volatility in the Middle East continues to push up global jet fuel prices. In response, major airlines in Hong Kong have once again announced increases to their fuel surcharges.
Starting 1 April 2026, Cathay Pacific will raise surcharges by 34% across all short-, medium-, and long-haul routes. Routes between Mainland China and Hong Kong will not be affected.
Explaining the adjustment, Cathay Pacific said it will review and revise the fuel surcharge every two weeks to enable a more agile response to the volatile jet fuel prices. The airline noted that this measure is temporary and will be reassessed once the situation in the Middle East stabilises.
