Faces of HR: Chih-Hao Huang on treating human capital as a measurable business asset

"When we treat human capital data with the same importance as financial data, we don't just manage people; we sustain the business," he says.

For Chih-Hao Huang, Chief Human Resources Officer, SEA Region, Delta Electronics (Thailand) PCL, leadership starts with structured thinking. He frequently engages in structured debates with AI to stress-test his logic and maintain a comprehensive mindset in his strategic work. This reflects his belief that HR leadership should be a value creation engine.

As he believes, when organisations treat human capital data with the same importance as financial data, they do not just manage people but sustain the business.

As he prepares to speak at #TransformTalentTH on 28 May, Huang shares with Emily Chong-Gupta about the biggest takeaway he hopes attendees will leave with  from his session.

Please tell us a fun fact about yourself that people may not know.

I don’t just ask AI for answers; I frequently engage in structured debates with the conclusions it provides. My goal isn't to prove the machine wrong only, but to stress-test my own logic and ensure I’m maintaining a truly comprehensive mindset in my strategic work.

Q What is the core belief in HR leadership that drives your leadership journey?

I believe HR leadership should be a value creation engine.

When we treat human capital data with the same importance as financial data, we don't just manage people; we sustain the business.

Q What is your #1 motto for leading teams more effectively?

The HR eco-ystem should serve people and business, never the other way around.

Q A quick preview of your session at Transform Talent 2026: what do you hope attendees will take away from your presentation this year?

I want them to leave with the understandings to turn 'human capital' from a buzzword into a measurable, strategic asset that their CEO recognises.

I want to attend the conference: If you're keen to attend this closed-door conference, kindly register your interest here. For speaking opportunities, please write in to Emily Chong-Gupta. We look forward to welcoming you!
