Civil servants in Singapore to receive 0.45‑month mid‑year payment, with junior grades receiving additional S$400

Civil servants in grades equivalent to MX13(I) and MX14 will also receive an additional one-time payment of S$250.

The Singapore Government will be handing out a mid‑year Annual Variable Component (AVC) of 0.45 months to all civil servants, following close consultation with public sector unions.

In addition, staff in grades equivalent to MX13(I) and MX14 will receive a one‑time payment of S$250. Staff in grades equivalent to MX15 and MX16, and those on the Operations Support Scheme (OSS), will receive a one‑time payment of S$400.

In its announcement on 23 June (Tuesday), the Public Service Division said the mid‑year decision reflects Q1 2026 economic conditions and the continued downside risks to the outlook. The Ministry of Trade and Industry maintains a 2026 GDP forecast of 2% – 4%, with risks from the US–Israel–Iran conflict. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Manpower’s advance estimates show the labour market remained resilient in Q1, though employment growth has moderated since Q4 2025.

The Government and unions stated it will continue to monitor developments and take the National Wages Council guidelines, due later in the year, into account when deciding year‑end AVC payments.
