It seems nothing will slow Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer down – not even the birth of her little boy.
After her husband announced the news of the birth on Twitter, a Yahoo spokesperson told Reuters that Mayer won’t be gone from the office long, The Daily Mail reported.
“She will be working remotely and is planning to return to the office as soon as possible (likely in 1-2 weeks),” a Yahoo spokesman told Reuters in an emailed statement.
“My maternity leave will be a few weeks long and I'll work throughout it,” Mayer had said in an interview with Fortune earlier.
Mayer, who took over the reins at Yahoo in July, tweeted a photo of a layette set filled with Yahoo-themed baby clothes and toys – a gift from the company’s communications department – just days after her hiring.
Yahoo was aware of her pregnancy when they interviewed her and their decision to go ahead with the hire showed their “evolved thinking”, the DM reported.
