Bizarre HR: Undercover boss sacks waiter on TV for “hating” customers

A waiter was fired on the spot after ranting to his female ‘co-worker’ about how much he hates customers – only to find out she was actually his boss in disguise for a reality TV show.

The young employee, Ronnie, believed his ‘colleague’ was being filmed for an unnamed TV show and was unaware his new friend was in fact Sara Bittorf, chief brand officer at Boston Market.

Bittorf had gone incognito posing as a waitress for the TV show Undercover Boss, which puts head executives among their staff to help them gain insight into the inner workings of their company.

On the show, Bittorf underwent training with Ronnie, who was acting as her shift supervisor, but became livid when he spent most of his time moaning about the people he was serving, The Daily Mail reported.

“I literally hate customers more than anything in the entire world. I hate them so much,” he said on the episode – knowing full well he was being captured on camera – which aired on February 1.

“They’re terrible. It’s all about them all the time and they demand everything,” he added.

The undercover executive then excused herself when she became so enraged by Ronnie’s comments.

“My job's on the line. Here I am a representative of this brand and this is what happens. It can't happen on my watch,” she told cameras behind the scenes.

After cooling down, she pulled Ronnie aside and revealed who she really was – and fired him.

“Without the guests in there, we don't have a business and you don't have a paycheck,” Bittorf told him.

Despite being sacked and the shock of learning his kitchen help was his boss, Ronnie showed little remorse for his attitude, saying “it’s not wrong of me to hate people”.

“They don't know I'm saying it so it's not that big a deal, but now this giant lady of Boston Market knows what's going on, that's just not fair,” he said to camera before driving off in his car.
