Bizarre HR: ‘SOS parachute' designed to save employees' lives

If high-rise office workers need to escape their building in an emergency, they can simply jump out the window.

The SOS parachute - an emergency chute which can open in 100 feet - has just passed its 13th test run, which means it can soon be put on the market.

Inventor Morris Shahbazi, from Panama, said he started designing the "high evacuation system" 12 years ago following with World Trade Centre disaster.

His company has since opened offices in Dubai, America and Singapore, with a London office to open soon, The Daily Mail reported.

Shahbazi said he hopes his invention will become commonplace in high rise offices around the world.

"My chute opens faster than a conventional parachute and as a result it needs only 100 feet of drop to be fully operational," he said.
