In view of this, BDO successfully developed an all-in-one employee-self-service platform “Valise” for its clients. The official launch of Valise in March 2017 saw BDO as a pioneer in the professional accounting industry with this online employee-self-service (ESS) platform.

The single platform allows employees to retrieve payslips and employers tax returns, make leave applications and claim expenses. It also facilitates the employee’s rental reimbursement applications. BDO is the first accounting firm in Hong Kong that has developed this type of online ESS platform.

The online services via Valise complement the rest of BDO’s business services which includes fully managed payroll services, HR administration services and accounting and treasury services. With Valise, payroll, salaries tax, leave and expense information are centralised and retrievable online.

“We are a service-driven professional service provider, not a systems vendor. Valise is one of the many tools BDO has developed to level up our service deliveries and enhance clients’ user experience,” said Portia Tang, director and head of professional resources solutions and client services at BDO.

As a testament to the strength of BDO’s outsourcing team, it secured a deal with Boeing, a large global payroll project that triggered over US$2 million in system investment.
