At the helm: Sandesh Bilagi moves up to role of CEO at Ramco Systems

Most recently President & COO, Sandesh has been credited with steering the company through two leadership transitions and holding it "steady" through the operational disruption of the COVID-19 period.

Ramco Systems, a global enterprise software company, has appointed Sandesh Bilagi (pictured above) as its Chief Executive Officer.

Sandesh steps into the role from his position as President & Chief Operating Officer, where he led the operational turnaround that returned the company to sustained profitability, delivering six consecutive quarters of operational profit through FY2026. In his new role, he will drive Ramco’s global growth agenda and accelerate its strategy to become an AI-native enterprise software company.

A veteran of more than two decades across enterprise technology, Sandesh has been credited with building and scaling businesses across sales, delivery, and operations. In its announcement, the company also credited him with founding its Australia & New Zealand business, a market that it said now stands among its strongest, having anchored it through major customer wins and the build-out of the company’s product and solutions footprint.

Over his tenure, Sandesh has been responsible for Ramco's sales and operations, while also steering the company through two leadership transitions and holding it "steady" through the operational disruption of the COVID-19 period.

Prior to Ramco, Sandesh held leadership positions at HCL Technologies and Tech Mahindra. With a strong foundation in finance and accounting, he has a track record of driving strategic growth, establishing offshore development centres, and closing landmark engagements, including deals worth over US$550mn with leading Australian corporations.

Commenting on his new role, Sandesh said: "It is a privilege to lead Ramco at a defining moment. We have done the hard work of restoring profitability and sharpening execution; the task now is to sustain that rigour and convert our strength into growth at scale."

Dubbed as a "truly global leader", Sandesh has lived and worked across India, China and Australia, and brings extensive exposure to business operations across the Asia Pacific region.
