At the helm: John Lombard steps in to lead Workday across Asia Pacific

Based between Australia and Singapore, Lombard will oversee Workday’s regional go-to-market strategy, commercial operations, and expansion across key APAC markets.

Workday has appointed John Lombard (pictured above) as President for Asia Pacific.

Lombard joins Workday after nearly a decade as Chief Executive Officer for Asia Pacific at NTT DATA, where he led operations across 16 countries with around 12,000 employees. His career spans more than 30 years in technology, consulting and advisory leadership, including senior roles at SAP, KPMG Australia and Crowe Horwath. Throughout his career, Lombard has been credited for helping enterprises navigate diverse regulatory landscapes, modernise their technology foundations, and scale through data-driven strategies.

Based between Australia and Singapore, Lombard will oversee Workday’s regional go-to-market strategy, commercial operations, and continued expansion across key APAC markets, as well as focus on scaling Workday’s APAC business, strengthening its partner ecosystem and supporting customers as they modernise HR, finance and IT operations.

"Asia Pacific is an epicenter of global innovation, presenting an incredible opportunity for businesses to leverage intelligent technology for a competitive edge,” Lombard said. "I am thrilled to join the team at this pivotal moment to deepen our regional relationships and support our customers through their digital transformation."

Rob Enslin, President and Chief Commercial Officer at Workday, said Lombard’s regional experience and leadership background would support the company’s APAC ambitions.

"John’s appointment comes at a critical juncture as APAC organisations increasingly look to AI to elevate employee experiences and optimise financial performance."

Lombard also serves as a board member of ARTDIS Singapore, a non-profit organisation supporting people with disabilities through the arts.
