All HDB households in Singapore can redeem expanded Climate Vouchers from 15 April 2024

The Climate Vouchers, worth S$300, will be available from 15 April 2024 via the RedeemSG platform, and remain valid until 31 December 2027.

Senior Minister of State (SMS) for Sustainability and the Environment Dr Amy Khor has announced that the Climate Friendly Households Programme (CFHP) will be enhanced to support households wishing to be more energy- and water-efficient, in turn helping to lower their utility bills.

This was shared during the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment’s Committee of Supply (COS) Debate 2024 on 4 March (Monday) and will take effect from 15 April 2024.

During her speech at the COS debate, SMS Khor said the existing CFHP provides S$225 worth of vouchers to one- to three-room HDB households, consisting of a S$150 refrigerator voucher, S$50 shower fittings voucher, and S$25 LED lighting voucher.

Currently, over 141,000 households have registered for their Climate Vouchers, and about 54,000 vouchers have been utilised.

The enhancements of the CFHP are as follows:

  • The qualifying redemption period to register for Climate Vouchers have extended to 20 March 2024. Apply to redeem your vouchers here.
  • From 15 April 2024, the CFHP will be expanded to all 1.1mn HDB households in Singapore, a more than threefold increase in coverage, to encourage wider adoption of energy- and water-efficient products.
  • Each HDB household will receive $300 worth of Climate Vouchers, and the number of eligible product types will be expanded from three to 10, including four-tick washing machines.
  • To make it more convenient for households to use the Climate Vouchers, more retailers will come onboard the programme, taking the total number of participating retailers to 14, with about 300 stores island wide.
  • Unlike the current CFHP where the voucher amount is fixed for each eligible product type, the enhanced CFHP will allow households to have more flexibility in using their vouchers and select different denominations when purchasing eligible appliances.

"With these enhancements, we hope to incentivise more households to choose resource-efficient options from the outset, or when their appliances and fittings are due for replacement."

Senior Minister of State for Sustainability and the Environment Dr Amy Khor

SMS Khor added that HDB households who have utilised the S$225 under the existing CFHP can also claim the new S$300 vouchers under the enhanced CFHP following its commencement.

"The enhanced Climate Vouchers will be available from 15 April 2024 via the RedeemSG platform, and remain valid until 31 December 2027.

Members of the public who need support in claiming the Climate Vouchers online may call the National Environment Agency's hotline for assistance.
