The data includes Google search counts, number of job openings on selected job sites, as well as profiles of professionals.
A recent study by Workyard has shared information on the top in-demand careers by workers in the current employment market.
The research took data from Google search, LinkedIn, and Indeed job openings, as well as the number of professionals available in the period of June 2022 to June 2023, and compiled evaluations into an overview of the top ten most in-demand careers.
*While the information is based primarily on US data, HRO believes the data would still be interesting and relevant to our readers in Asia.
1. AI prompt engineer
As the most in-demand new career on the market with 7,000 job openings, it has the highest Google search count of over 60,000, indicating a strong level of interest among individuals searching for possibilities in this field. Currently, there are 3,500 professionals, of which approximately 920 are from the US.
2. Human integration specialist
With 6,000 job openings, LinkedIn Jobs shows a relatively lower count of 980 job openings, while Indeed Jobs has about 5,020 jobs listed. Presently, there no registered professionals in the US and only one human integration specialist globally that was found during our research.
3. 3D printing engineer
Regarding Google search count, it is relatively high reaching 9,000 searches suggesting a significant interest from the job market. Of the 3,000 professionals, 700 are from the US.
4. AI product manager
Similar to the 3D printing engineer, AI product managers also have 3,000 job openings. However, compared to the other professions stated above, the Google search count is lower, at 4,000. The number of professionals in this field matches 3D printing engineers, indicating a comparable level of demand.
5. Drone manager
This role had a significantly lower numbers of job openings (1,500), indicating a lower demand compared to the previous professions. Moreover, the Google search count is also relatively low at 1,500, suggesting limited interest. Currently, around 25 out of 90 individuals worldwide hold the position in the United States.
6. AI research scientist
Despite ranking sixth with 850 job openings, it has a Google search count is relatively high at 7,550, indicating significant interest. Currently, there are 2,500 professionals working in this role, from which approximately 650 professionals are based in the US.
7. Augmented reality experience designer
Behind AI research scientists, it has 800 job openings and a relatively low count of 350 Google searches. The number of professionals worldwide remains limited, with only nine professionals in the field.
8. Digital currency advisors
While having around 500 job openings on LinkedIn and Indeed, the Google search count is also relatively low at 150. Currently, only 30 professionals are listed in this role, which could suggest a smaller community.
9. Virtual reality therapist
Despite the lower count of job openings (300), it has higher interest with 2,000 Google searches. According to the data, presently, there are 15 professionals working in this field, three of which are based in the US.
10. AI ethicist
It has only nine job openings while having 1,000 Google searches. Despite the fact that there are only nine job openings, 300 individuals are listed in this field, including 103 AI ethicists in the US and 191 internationally.
