Up the ranks: Maggie Shen is Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts' group CHRO

Maggie Shen has joined Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts as the group chief human resources officer. Starting in November 2016, her responsibilities include talent and people strategy, training and leadership development, and group HR policy.

Aditionally, she will play an instrumental role in partnering with business and cultivate the company culture to support a diversified workforce.

Shen's HR achievements span nearly 20 years and include the positions of VP HR for the BMW Group in China, and head of HR with Visa International overseeing Greater China.

Shen's number one priority for the upcoming year is to work with the management team to build up strong organisational and leadership capabilities for Shangri-La. She is based at the company's corporate office in Hong Kong and reports directly to the chairman of Shangri-La Asia.
