Up the ranks: Hazlina Hazani heads up total rewards at AmBank Group

Rewards and compensation expert, Hazlina Hazani, has been appointed by leading Malaysian financial services group, AmBank Group, as SVP and Head of Total Rewards.

In this role, her priority for this year and onwards is to support the Group’s strategic plan, taking into consideration the demands of workforce for the future and the Group's digital aspirations, through a holistic review of the total rewards propositions in line with IR 4.0.

She spoke exclusively to Human Resources Online on the context behind this strategy: "The current disruption in the banking sector requires different skills and capabilities. Hence, the current traditional rewards system is no longer able to drive the right culture and motivate the future workforce who appreciates propositions that appealing to their immediate needs in the era of gig economy.

"In AmBank, our priority is to create a sustainable EVP with greater focus on a progressive rewards structure, work life flexibility, and an offering that promotes diversity and inclusion."

Prior to taking up this role, Hazlina was Director of Group Rewards & Performance at CIMB, and has tenured with ING, HSBC and more during her career. She has also previously worked with AmBank Group in the capacity of Group Head of rewards & Performance Management.
