Up the ranks: Bit9 + Carbon Black's new APAC managing director

In order to strengthen its presence in Asia, Bit9 + Carbon Black has announced the setting up of a new regional headquarters in Singapore.

Spearheading the team with 15 years of experience in enterprise security will be Kane Lightowler, managing director for Asia Pacific.

According to the press release, under Lightowler’s leadership, the company will be focusing its efforts on establishing regional partnerships with value-added resellers, and on managing security services partners and incident response consulting partners.

Over the past 15 years in the industry, Lightowler has held numerous roles across the cyber security sector ranging from technical to executive commercial and business roles, building up a broad depth of experience establishing and building cyber security business in the region.

Before being appointed as the managing director for Asia Pacific for Bit9 + Carbon Black in August 2015, he spent over 6 years driving growth in new markets, new customer segments and new solutions across Asia Pacific and Japan for Imperva as their vice president strategic accounts - Asia Pacific and Japan.

“With cyber-attacks becoming increasingly sophisticated, it is no longer sufficient for organisations to rely on inefficient anti-virus or network security. Now, cyber criminals, nation-states and hacktivists can target organisation’s endpoints, including ATMs and point-of-sale (POS) systems that contain critical information that is highly prized by attackers," said Lightowler.

"Trusted by almost 2,000 customers worldwide and with partnerships with leading security service providers, such as Dell Secureworks and Kroll, we are confident that Bit9 + Carbon Black’s solutions can meet the needs of organizations in the Asia Pacific region,” he added.
