The Paris 2024 Olympics is reaching its climax with many gold medal events having just taken place, or looking to wrap in the next few days. While the audience has been diving into their preferred matches and championing their favourite athletes, Swire Properties has taken this opportunity to engage its employees by getting them into the Olympics spirit.
On the Friday afternoon of 2 August, the Hong Kong-based property developer brought all employees together by hosting a special Olympics viewing party at its flexible workspace and event venue Blueprint.
Amid endless snacks, employees had fun and enjoyed a relaxing time watching the games and cheering on the amazing athletes altogether.
Carrying forward a dynamic vibe, employees and attendees also played sports-themed games and engaged in some friendly competition during the party, immersing themselves in a true Olympics ambience.
“The goal of course, apart from having a great time, was to continue to build a vibrant community where people can thrive – which is our greater placemaking mission,” a Swire Properties spokesperson shares exclusively with HRO’s Tracy Chan.
As part of the company’s effort to support local businesses, the party also saw partnerships with several local beverage companies, offering tasting experiences for its colleagues. These included Hong Kong-made kombucha (Yumbles), gin (NIP Distillery), and beer (Heroes).
This move aims to showcase local talents and products, and build an even stronger sense of pride in local businesses among its colleagues.

“Our event was a great success, and attendees had a wonderful time celebrating the Olympics, feeling inspired, recharging and connecting with each other,” the spokesperson affirms.
“Ultimately, we just wanted our hard-working colleagues to take an afternoon off, kick back, and have a great time.”
The Olympic viewing party adds to Swire Properties’ commitment to engaging its colleagues and supporting their wellbeing as the company sees people as the key to its business success.
In addition to this latest activity, Swire Properties has also put various employee wellbeing initiatives in place, including flexible working; a robust employee wellness programme with regular activities such as yoga and DIY classes, as well as sharing from experts to encourage mental and physical wellbeing; its annual 10k Challenge as a fun run/family day; Pride Month activities; to name a few.
The spokesperson concludes: “Our people make our many successes possible, so we’re constantly launching activities and ways to ensure their wellness and encourage work-life balance.”
