This is good news for frequent business travellers who now have another option apart from going by road.
If you're based in Singapore and travel often enough to Melaka — whether for business meetings, or to get your fix of the local delicacies, you might often find yourself stuck in a car for four (sometimes even more) hours.
The good news is, effective 23 October 2024 (Wednesday), Scoot will be launching direct flights from Singapore to Melaka.
The approximately 55-minute flights to Melaka will take off five times a week, with all-in economy class fares starting as low as S$69.
In addition to Melaka, the airlines also announced that it will be launching flights to Indonesia's Kertajati International Airport, which serves the Greater Bandung and Cirebon areas. These flights will be run twice weekly, with all-in economy class fares starting at S$92.
Scoot shared in its update that together with destinations served by its existing fleet, the airline will operate 78 weekly flights to Indonesia and 115 weekly flights to Malaysia by October 2024; 37 flights to Philippines by November 2024, and four weekly flights to Laos by December 2024.
More details on the new flight routes and timings can be found here.
