Planning family time, childcare, or a well-deserved break? From a four-day Chinese New Year school break to extra days off after Youth Day, Labour Day, and Christmas, 2027 offers families several opportunities to pause, recharge, and spend time together.
For families, the school calendar is more than a list of dates. It helps everyone plan the morning routines, childcare arrangements, family trips, and those much-needed breaks in between busy school terms.
The Ministry of Education (MOE) has released the school terms and holidays for 2027. Here’s a handy overview to help you plan ahead.
Primary 1 and Kindergarten 1 children will begin school on 4 January 2027 (Monday). Primary 2 to 6 pupils and Kindergarten 2 children will start a day later, on 5 January 2027 (Tuesday).
MOE KINDERGARTEN (MK), PRIMARY & SECONDARY
The school year for MOE Kindergartens, primary schools and secondary schools will run from 4 January (Monday) to 19 November 2027 (Friday).
Semester one
