A follow-up meeting will be held on 17 July (Friday) as the State Government examines concerns raised following the expansion of diesel subsidies in Sabah.
The Sabah State Government is engaging with Malaysia’s Ministry of Finance (MOF) and relevant federal agencies to consider mechanisms to improve the implementation of targeted diesel subsidies in the state.
Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor, Chief Minister of Sabah said a follow-up meeting involving state government agencies, MOF, and relevant federal agencies will be held on 17 July, chaired by the Sabah State Secretary.
The meeting will look into issues surrounding the targeted diesel subsidy implementation in Sabah, which came into effect on 1 July 2026.
Datuk Hajiji said the expansion of the targeted diesel subsidy implementation to Sabah was also discussed during the Sabah Cabinet Meeting on 13 July.
He added that the state government has taken note of concerns raised by various parties following the rollout.
Following this, MOF and relevant government agencies have been instructed to review the issues raised and examine suitable proposals to address challenges faced by affected groups.
