Road closures and traffic diversions in place for Shangri-La Dialogue 2025

Expect traffic and security changes around Shangri-La Singapore and The St. Regis from 29 May to 1 June 2025. Here’s what you need to know to get around smoothly and safely.

With the 22nd Shangri-La Dialogue taking place from 30 May to 1 June 2025, and the reception and dinner at The St. Regis Singapore on 31 May, the Singapore Police Force has announced some special traffic and security arrangements to keep things running smoothly and safely.

Here’s what you need to know to navigate around the area with ease during this time:

Traffic and parking near Shangri-La Singapore (29 May – 1 June 2025)
Motorists are advised to avoid roads around Shangri-La Singapore, including Anderson Road and Orange Grove Road. Please consider these alternative routes:

  • Use Scotts Road to reach Stevens Road (from Tanglin Road), Orchard Road (from Stevens Road), or Balmoral Road (from Tanglin Road).
  • Use Draycott Park or Draycott Drive if heading to Ardmore Park, as there will be no through road between Ardmore Park (lamp post 8) and Anderson Road from 11:00 pm on 29 May until 5:00 pm on 1 June.

Commercial vehicles with registration plates beginning with “G,” “W,” “X,” or “Y” will be restricted from entering Anderson Road.

As parking within Shangri-La Singapore will be limited, hotel guests are advised to take public transport or plan for alternative transport arrangements, including taxis and ride-hailing services. Parking restrictions will be strictly enforced. Vehicles found parking illegally or causing obstruction will be towed.

Traffic and road closures near the St. Regis Singapore (31 May 2025)
To support the reception and dinner on 31 May, certain roads and lanes around The St. Regis Singapore will be closed to traffic. Only authorised vehicles, police, and emergency services will be given access. Police personnel will be stationed along affected routes to assist motorists.

Expect delays along Tanglin Road, Cuscaden Road, Tomlinson Road, and Orchard Boulevard. Motorists are encouraged to plan alternate routes or use public transportation.

For those heading to Orchard Road via Cuscaden or Tomlinson Roads, alternative routes are available via Grange Road, Paterson Hill, and Paterson Road.

Temporary restricted areas for airspace
The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) will establish two Temporary Restricted Areas (TRAs) during the event:

  • Over Shangri-La Singapore from 30 May to 1 June 2025
  • Over The St. Regis Singapore on 31 May 2025 from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm

During these periods, all aerial and unmanned aircraft activities within these areas will be prohibited. Violations carry severe penalties, including fines and imprisonment under Singapore’s Air Navigation laws.
