The ex-gratia payment, announced after the bank’s FY2025 results, targets eligible junior staff as part of efforts to recognise contributions and ease cost-of-living pressures.
Following its FY2025 earnings release, Maybank Singapore has announced a one-off ex-gratia payment of S$1,250 to eligible junior employees.
In an announcement on 4 March 2026, the bank said the payment is part of its continued efforts to recognise employees’ contributions, particularly those who are more impacted by cost-of-living pressures.
According to the bank, the move builds on an individual support amount first introduced last year. By maintaining this level of support, the bank said it aims to provide tangible and targeted assistance where it can make the "greatest practical difference", keeping its support meaningful, sustained, and responsive to employees’ day-to-day realities.
Alvin Lee, Country CEO and CEO, Maybank Singapore, said employees had demonstrated unwavering dedication amid a challenging operating environment, and that the ex-gratia payment highlighted the bank’s appreciation and its commitment to uplifting colleagues who feel the effects of day-to-day expenses more acutely.
“Supporting our people remains central to who we are, and we will continue to stand by them as we navigate the path ahead,” he added.
