Malaysia likely to implement special immigration counters for foreign tourists

In the meantime, foreigners who do not have complete documents will be sent back to their home countries to avoid misuse of tourist visas.

Per the latest update by the Immigration Department of Malaysia (JIM), foreign tourists arriving in Malaysia will likely have to go through special immigration counters.

While there has not been an implementation date announced at the time of this article, these controls will be carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Health (KKM).

As cited in a report by Berita RTM, shared on JIM's Facebook, Datuk Seri Khairul Dzaimee Daud, Director General of Immigration, explained: "For flights from China, for example, they will go through special immigration counters that are managed efficiently and quickly. If there are any symptoms, we will refer them to KKM officials who are on duty together."

JIM will also ensure that the entry of foreign tourists is in accordance with the law that has been set. In the meantime, foreigners who do not have complete documents will be sent back to their home countries to avoid misuse of tourist visas.
