The ministry said official reports have been lodged with the relevant authorities, as the review examines TalentCorp’s internal policies, controls, and accountability mechanisms.
Malaysia’s Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA) is working with Talent Corporation Malaysia (TalentCorp) to strengthen governance, compliance, and operational processes at the agency, following a review that identified several areas for improvement.
In a statement on 22 October 2026, KESUMA said the initiative aligns with broader reform efforts to strengthen transparency, integrity and accountability at TalentCorp.
The review, conducted by TalentCorp’s management together with the ministry, identified areas requiring improvement, including provisions in the company’s Constitution, compliance with internal policies, internal controls, and mechanisms for integrity and accountability.
KESUMA raises concerns over alleged interference
KESUMA said it takes seriously allegations of attempts by interested parties to interfere with the ongoing review and investigation.
The alleged interference includes efforts to spread misleading information, influence individuals within TalentCorp and divert attention from the matters under review, the ministry said. Such attempts could compromise the integrity and independence of the ongoing process, it added.
Following information and evidence received in relation to the matter, several official reports have been lodged with the relevant authorities to facilitate independent investigations.
KESUMA said it would leave the authorities to examine the evidence and establish the facts. It stressed that the review must be conducted independently, transparently and in an orderly manner, without interference or undue influence.
The ministry added that it would not compromise on attempts to use positions, influence or networks to undermine the integrity of the process.
TalentCorp employees and management to cooperate
The review and investigation also involve TalentCorp employees and management, with all parties expected to provide full cooperation to ensure the process is conducted fairly and objectively.
KESUMA said any further action would be determined by the findings of the review and investigation.
In line with the MADANI Government’s aspirations, the Ministry reiterated its commitment to good governance based on transparency, accountability and ethical administration.
It added that the transformation process must ensure every decision and action is carried out responsibly, in accordance with applicable laws and procedures, and free from undue influence.
TalentCorp operations to continue as usual
Despite the ongoing review, TalentCorp’s operations and strategic programmes will continue as usual, KESUMA said. The agency will remain focused on its national talent development mandate, including improving graduate employability, developing future skills and strengthening workforce participation.
KESUMA said the approach reflects the commitment of both the ministry and TalentCorp to safeguarding institutional interests, public trust and organisational integrity, while ensuring the agency continues to deliver on its talent development responsibilities.
The ongoing process is intended to strengthen governance and accountability at TalentCorp while allowing its programmes to continue supporting Malaysia’s workforce and talent development needs.
