A Malaysian man who had his tattoos removed for a job interview has died after supposed complications from the surgery.
The Star reported the 25-year-old man wanted to become a policeman, but was worried the tattoos on his back would work against him for landing the job.
The man, named as N. Dinesh Nair, died two weeks after the tattoo removal procedure, apparently due to skin infections and “other medical complications” the paper reported.
The man’s brother, N. Gobinair, told The Star he fell unconscious during the procedure and was subsequently warded in hospital. He died on Thursday morning.
Kuala Muda OCPD Asst Comm Khalil Ariffin told The Star they had received a police report on the incident, and they are investigating the case before confirming cause of death.
