Prior to his new role, the remuneration specialist spent 11 years at Mercer Human Resource Consulting and has also undertaken roles as GM for performance and reward for the Commonwealth Bank and head of reward at investment management firm Challenger Ltd.

In the newly created position, Derek will help drive the company’s human capital and benefits business gain a better understanding of board, executive, and non-exec remuneration strategies. He will be based out of the Sydney office.

“Remuneration strategies, structures and processes are under intense scrutiny from regulators, shareholders and the community,” said Adam Hall, head of the talent and rewards team in Australia.

“Derek’s depth and breadth of experience, particularly in financial services, will be of immense value to clients across WTW looking to address the current questions around remuneration and the myriad of requirements for listed companies,” he added.
