Astronomer’s Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot resigns after viral Coldplay ‘kiss cam’ moment

Just days after CEO Andy Byron stepped down, HR head Kristin Cabot has also exited the company. The two were seen in a viral video sharing an intimate moment at a Coldplay concert.

Kristin Cabot, Chief People Officer of Astronomer, has resigned from her role following the fallout of a viral video taken at a Coldplay concert in Boston, according to CNBC.

Her departure comes shortly after CEO Andy Byron stepped down, following the same incident. The two were captured in an intimate moment on the venue’s ‘kiss cam’, and quickly ducked out of sight once they noticed their faces on the big screen. Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, acknowledging the moment during the show, joked, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.” A concert-goer’s video of the exchange quickly made the rounds on social media.

In a statement shared with CNBC, a spokesperson for the company confirmed: “Kristin Cabot is no longer with Astronomer, she has resigned.”

Both Byron and Cabot's profiles have since been removed from Astronomer’s leadership team webpage.

Astronomer, which builds commercial software around the open-source data tool Apache Airflow, had recently made headlines of a different kind. In May 2025, the company secured US$93mn in a funding round led by Bain Ventures and joined by Salesforce Ventures and other investors.

Addressing the situation, Pete DeJoy, interim CEO posted earlier this week: “The spotlight has been unusual and surreal for our team and, while I would never have wished for it to happen like this, Astronomer is now a household name.

In a follow-up company statement, Astronomer said: "Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met.” The company added that it remains focused on helping customers tackle challenges in data and AI, and committed to its core values despite the change in leadership.
