Shirlyn Ng has joined The Kallang Group (TKG) as Group Head, Human Resources & Organisation Development, bringing her human resources experience in the technology sector to the organisation. She was previously Senior Director, Human Resources, Asia and IBS Hub Manila at Vertiv. She has also worked at KPMG Singapore and GovTech Singapore.

Reporting to the Chief Corporate Officer, Ng’s priorities for the next few months and year include advancing TKG’s people and culture agenda, building leadership capabilities and developing talent. She also aims to create a culture where people can perform, grow, take pride in what they do and have fun.

In her new role, Ng looks forward to shaping TKG’s people and culture as the organisation progresses through its transformation journey, she tells HRO.

Reflecting on her past HR experiences, she says her most cherished memories are moments when people tell her she has made a difference in their lives. These include helping new leaders assimilate into their roles, supporting colleagues through difficult transitions, and seeing team members grow and develop.

"These moments are reminders that regardless of industry, it’s always about enabling people to do their best work and helping organisations grow through their people."

Beyond her new role, Ng also highlights the need to continue building a future-ready workforce in Singapore, particularly talent with critical and niche skillsets. According to her, creating meaningful careers for people at different stages of their working lives remains an important part of addressing the country's talent challenges.
