The best paying jobs in Singapore in 2016

IT, accounting, sales and marketing, banking and finance, and healthcare and life sciences - these five sectors have some of the highest paying jobs in Singapore this year, according to the Kelly Singapore 2016 salary guide.

Technology heads are expected to command between S$13,000 to S$24,000 a month, partially attributed to the government's S$120 million budget for training of infocomm professionals.

CFOs are expected to take home in the range of S$10,000 to S$20,000 while general managers of sales & marketing at SMEs also have a positive outlook in the range of S$10,000 to S$18,000.

The following are expected to be the top 5 paying industries (monthly figures):

1. Information technology - Technology heads in the range of S$13,000 to S$24,000. Senior account directors for BD and program managers can expect to command salary ranges of S$12,000 to S$22,000 and S$11,000 to S$14,480 respectively.

2. Accounting - CFOs can earn in the range of S$10,000 to S$20,000, while accounts managers may look to command between S$5,000 to S$7,000.

3. Sales and marketing - The GM role at an SME is expected to bring in between S$10,000 to S$18,000. Digital marketers can expect to command a salary of S$6,000 to S$10,000.

4. Banking and finance - Vice president roles in compliance and risk functions are pegged between S$10,000 to S$17,000, while financial technology developers are in the range of S$7,500 and S$12,000.

5. Healthcare and life sciences - R&D directors can anticipate earning between S$8,000 to S$15,000, given that Singapore hosts Asia’s fastest growing bio-cluster.

Due to a tight labour market and companies being more cautious with hiring across all sectors,demand in HR has moved towards more specialist talent acquisition roles, with focus shifting from mid-senior to junior-mid level positions.

How much can HR managers expect to earn this year monthly? Here's the data.

  1. Regional OD manager (10-20 years of experience) - S$12,100-15,000
  2. HR business partner (8-15 years of experience) - S$6,700-10,800
  3. Senior / compensation executive (3-8 years of experience) - S$4,000-8,000
  4. HR manager (3-8 years of experience) - S$5,000-7,500
  5. Section leader, talent acquisition (3-8 years of experience) - S$3,800-7,500
  6. L&D supervisor / manager (8-15 years of experience) - S$5,500-7,000
  7. Payroll executive (3-5 years of experience) - S$2,800-4,000
