The first phase of implementation will apply to Malaysian citizens entering via the CIQ entrance of Sultan Abu Bakar Complex (KSAB) using bus and motorcycle routes.
The Malaysian Immigration Department has announced that starting 1 June 2024, cross-border travel will be made easier using MyTRIP QR code, via tthe MySejahtera application.
According to Jabatan Imigresen Malaysia's (JIM)'s Facebook post, the implementation of the MyTRIP QR code is a trial period through proof of concept (POC) for three months, and will be extended for full implementation.
"This digital verification will ensure swift and smooth immigration release at the country's entry."
JIM also announced that the MyTRIP registration has already opened and, during this first phase of implementation, will be open to Malaysian citizens entering via the CIQ entrance of Sultan Abu Bakar Complex (KSAB) using bus and motorcycle routes.
Over time, the facility will extend its accessibility to other entrances and transportation methods.
