The two-month measure will exclude private cars and motorcycles/motor tricycles.

The HKSAR Government will waive 50% of the toll for commercial vehicles using all government-tolled tunnels and the Tsing Sha Control Area, effective from 00:00am on 17 May 2026.

This temporary measure will remain in place for two months, ending at 11:59pm on 16 July 2026. It will apply to all commercial vehicles, including buses, goods vehicles, light buses, and taxis as registered under records of the Transport Department (TD). Private cars and motor cycles/motor tricycles are excluded.

According to the Inter-departmental Task Force on Monitoring Fuel Supply, the targeted measure aims to ease operating costs of various types of commercial vehicles, and help drivers and operators cope with rising fuel prices.

The TD has instructed the toll service provider to update the HKeToll system accordingly. Commercial vehicle owners do not need to submit an application, and will simply pay the reduced amount as displayed. Existing payment methods and time limits remain unchanged.

Notably, taxi passengers are still required to pay the full statutory toll during the waiver period. Placards will be displayed inside taxi compartments to remind passengers of the arrangement.
