CTE (City-bound) Exit 8A towards PIE to be temporarily closed from 12am to 5am on 18 Jan for construction

Motorists travelling from the CTE (City-bound) to the PIE (Tuas-bound) are advised to use CTE Exit 7C towards Moulmein Road to continue their journey via Thomson Road to the PIE (Tuas-bound).

Planning your coming weekend out? Take note of this road closure.

The city-bound slip road from Central Expressway (CTE) Exit 8A to Pan Island Expressway (PIE) Tuas-bound will be temporarily closed from 12:00am to 5:00am on 18 January 2026 (Sunday).

According to the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), the closure is required to facilitate road realignment works to build a new pedestrian-cum-cycling link across the PIE, connecting the Kallang Park Connector near St. Andrew’s Junior College to the neighbourhood park at Jalan Taman.

During the road closure, motorists are advised to plan their journey accordingly. Here are some suggested detours from the URA:

  • CTE (city-bound) → PIE (Tuas-bound): Take Exit 7C towards Moulmein Road, then continue via Thomson Road to join the PIE.
  • CTE (city-bound) → Lorong 6 Toa Payoh: Take Exit 7C towards Moulmein Road, continue via Thomson Road to PIE (Changi-bound), then connect to Lorong 6 Toa Payoh.

Barricades and traffic diversion signs will also be put up to guide motorists. Motorists are advised to drive carefully and follow the information signs displayed.
