Singapore retains the top spot, with Asian markets such as Japan, South Korea, and Malaysia ranking in the top 10.
The Henley Passport Index 2026 has once again placed Singapore at the top of the global passport rankings.
The index measures how many destinations passport holders can enter without a prior visa, covering 199 passports and 227 travel destinations.
Created 20 years ago and based on exclusive Timatic data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the index ranks all the world’s passports according to the number of destinations their holders can access without a prior visa. With historical data spanning two decades and regularly updated expert analysis, it has become a key reference for global citizens and a standard tool used in government policy discussions on mobility.
At the pinnacle of the index, Singapore retains its position as the world’s most powerful passport, offering visa-free access to 192 destinations.
