Up the ranks: Sumo India zeroes in on Ashish Bhawker as HR Manager of Operations

He brings more than 15 years of HR experience to this role, with his most recent assignment being as Head of Employee Engagement at Company3 Method India.

Video game developer Sumo India has appointed Ashish Bhawker (pictured above) as HR Manager of Operations, a role in which he is supporting HR operations and engagement activities across both Sumo studios in India - located in Pune and Bangalore. 

He brings more than 15 years of HR experience to this role, with his most recent assignment being as Head of Employee Engagement at Company3 Method India. Prior to that, he has had tenures at Deluxe Entertainment Services, Xoriant, Sutherland Global Services, and more. 

He is currently based in Pune, but the new role, effective 7 February 2023, is a hybrid one. 

"As Sumo India Studios continues to grow across both its Pune and Bangalore locations, it is essential that we continue to ensure the highest quality support and wellbeing for our people," said Stewart Neal, Studio Director of Sumo India Studios. "It’s great to welcome Ashish to the already excellent HR team we have here."

Father-of-two Bhawker, chimed in: "The games industry has so many creative people and working with them is what I’m most looking forward to."

Sumo India, is part of the Sumo Digital family, 16 development studios, which are located in cities across India, the UK, Poland, and Canada. Some of the company's titles include Hood: Outlaws & Legends, Hotshot Racing, Forza Horizon Series, Crackdown 3, Snake Pass, Hitman 2, BAFTA award-winning title, Sackboy: A Big Adventure.
